Quiet & Comfortable
4*

From the airport we got the Airport Express followed by the BTS Skytrain to reach the hotel; located roughly 350m or a 5 minute walk from Phra Khanong station along pavement it is not that bad. Check in was okay, although, as we now know is common in Thailand, but unknown to us originally, there was a security deposit required of 2000 baht for our 6 nights which we didn't have available at the time. However they said we could pay the next day after withdrawing some cash which was good (the next day they only asked for 1000 baht though?).

Our room was on the 19th floor so it was far from any noise and had a great view from the window. It was a fairly small room but big enough for the two of us and had suitable amenities like a safe, fridge, complimentary water etc. but the toiletries were limited. The air conditioning was also very good allowing us to quickly cool off after a day out! The TV had a decent channel selection and good connection, and there was daily housekeeping. Two minor negatives of the room however were that the towels had a bad smell after using them just once, not an issue in any of the other hotels we stayed at, and the shower would occasionally seem to run out of water and start firing a mixture of water and air at you which wasn't very pleasant.

The hotel had a nice pool however it seems to have been built in a poor location as it is completely in the shade by 12.30pm, but this does keep it less busy and when we were there it was very quiet. The staff were very nice and always welcoming. Little things really stood out, for instance, a special mention to the cleaner who, on our day of departure while we were sat in the lobby doing travel planning (we had a late flight) without any asking or prompting, he very kindly brought us over some cold water from the free jug they have available, this was very nice!

As alluded to prior, one of the most important aspects while travelling is location; for seeing the sights of Bangkok, the proximity to the Skytrain offers ideal access to Bangkok, however it therefore adds about 100 baht a day in regards to travel expenses, we thought this was worth it though because the hotel was in a nice neighbourhood, not like those around Nana Plaza which had some 'dodgy characters' lining the street and hotel entrances after sunset...

In summary, it is a good budget hotel in a nice location, ideal for travelers and others alike who don't mind a bit of a commute into central Bangkok in return for a very comfortable and affordable stay.

Reclining Buddha
4*

We decided to go to Wat Phra Chetuphon (Wat Pho) temple because of the Reclining Buddha (and as it is #1 on TA) and it was very impressive. There are a number of temples in Bangkok but I would definitely recommend Wat Pho.

We got the river boat to Tha Chang and then walked past the Grand Palace for around 10 minutes until we reached Wat Pho entrance. The entrance fee is 200 baht per person, and you get a free bottle of water with your ticket.

The temple grounds are filled with numerous artifacts and detailed information about teachings in the Buddhist faith which are interesting to read. Additionally, the grounds are very well kept and the architecture is stunning.

The highlight for us was the Reclining Buddha - so beautiful and huge with amazing detail on the feet!

I'd recommend wearing shoes which are easy to put on/take off as you will need to remove them when you enter the different buildings.

Overall, a beautiful temple with lots to see and learn, I would definitely recommend visiting!

Awesome & Great Food
5*

Terminal 21 is easy to find, located right outside of Asok BTS station. It is a great place to go, especially if you are staying in Sukhumvit.

Terminal 21 is an airport themed shopping centre with a large food court on the 5th floor. Each floor has a city theme such as London, San Francisco and Tokyo which is really cool to look at.

The food court is fantastic, with incredibly cheap food which is delicious (this is what we primarily came for). You put cash on a card they provide and then you can go to any of the food stalls to try the different dishes! It's very similar to street food, but it is all contained on one floor with aircon and proper tables to enjoy your meal. My partner and I ordered 3 meals and an ice cream which were all freshly made and delicious, costing only £2.50 for all of it! (100baht exactly on the day)

Overall, I'd definitely recommend Terminal 21 if you'd like to try thai dishes with street food prices in a bit more comfort, or if you fancy a shopping spree.
