Quiet & Comfortable

From the airport we got the Airport Express followed by the BTS Skytrain to reach the hotel; located roughly 350m or a 5 minute walk from Phra Khanong station along pavement it is not that bad. Check in was okay, although, as we now know is common in Thailand, but unknown to us originally, there was a security deposit required of 2000 baht for our 6 nights which we didn't have available at the time. However they said we could pay the next day after withdrawing some cash which was good (the next day they only asked for 1000 baht though?).
Our room was on the 19th floor so it was far from any noise and had a great view from the window. It was a fairly small room but big enough for the two of us and had suitable amenities like a safe, fridge, complimentary water etc. but the toiletries were limited. The air conditioning was also very good allowing us to quickly cool off after a day out! The TV had a decent channel selection and good connection, and there was daily housekeeping. Two minor negatives of the room however were that the towels had a bad smell after using them just once, not an issue in any of the other hotels we stayed at, and the shower would occasionally seem to run out of water and start firing a mixture of water and air at you which wasn't very pleasant.
The hotel had a nice pool however it seems to have been built in a poor location as it is completely in the shade by 12.30pm, but this does keep it less busy and when we were there it was very quiet. The staff were very nice and always welcoming. Little things really stood out, for instance, a special mention to the cleaner who, on our day of departure while we were sat in the lobby doing travel planning (we had a late flight) without any asking or prompting, he very kindly brought us over some cold water from the free jug they have available, this was very nice!
As alluded to prior, one of the most important aspects while travelling is location; for seeing the sights of Bangkok, the proximity to the Skytrain offers ideal access to Bangkok, however it therefore adds about 100 baht a day in regards to travel expenses, we thought this was worth it though because the hotel was in a nice neighbourhood, not like those around Nana Plaza which had some 'dodgy characters' lining the street and hotel entrances after sunset...
In summary, it is a good budget hotel in a nice location, ideal for travelers and others alike who don't mind a bit of a commute into central Bangkok in return for a very comfortable and affordable stay.
