Walking across the Golden Gate Bridge was a fantastic experience and easily doable in under two hours (full length; across and back). There are some great free exhibits at the southern end of the bridge where the local bus also dropped us off. The footpath across the bridge is spacious and feels safe. The views were great, even though we visited on a slightly overcast day. We also spotted many sea lions and got to watch surfers catching waves near Fort Point National Historic Site. It is definitely worth visiting and walking across the Golden Gate Bridge!
