Pretty and Unique
5*

The symphony of lights show is beautiful. Multiple skyscrapers have multicolored lights choreographed to music which is awesome to watch.

It lasts for 10 minutes and is on every night at 8pm along the waterfront. It's also free and is a really nice way to see Hong Kong at night. We watched it from the Avenue of Stars which was ideal for the view and music.

I read that the show has different languages on different nights so we went on a Wednesday (English) but you could go any night of the week seeing as the actual light show is to music with no words.

Overall, a brief but pretty way to see the waterfront and skyline at night. I'd recommend it!

Pretty and Varied
4*

Pros:

1. The high variety of plants and garden features makes for an interesting and pretty stroll.

2. The plants are really cheap and high quality, a dozen roses were only £6 which is nothing compared to UK prices.

3. All of the shop fronts and stalls are along one road which makes it easy to find and see everything.

4. No pushy sales or bothersome staff - everyone was very relaxed and you are just left to look around which is refreshing in a market environment.

Cons:

1. The main activity is looking at garden features/flowers which might not appeal to everyone.

Overall, a sweet market with lovely plants and a relaxed atmosphere.

On the day of our flight we got text and email notifications of a change of schedule; delay of 30 minutes which wasn't the best start, however at least they notified us of this well in advance so we simply arrived at the airport 30 minutes later than originally planned. For economy they only had one check in desk open so there was a queue, but we still had plenty of time to make it to the gate. They supported online check in so we already had our seats but just needed to put our bags through. We chose Cathay Dragon as other airlines offering the same route had poor reviews, thus the ticket was slightly more expensive, but it allowed us to relax a bit more knowing they're less likely to majorly change flight times etc.

The flight itself took off on time (based on the new scheduled take off time) and the crew spoke very good English which was welcome as we thought it may be an entirely Chinese speaking flight. They had great in flight entertainment which I did not anticipate, and the seats were relatively comfortable; the plane had a 2-4-2 cross layout, so we had 2 seats to ourselves, on the wing. They also served a nice meal, despite only being a 2 hour flight, which overall made the flight seem extremely quick. They perhaps could've been clearer with some things such as landing cards which we didn't know whether we required or not, but other information was plentiful, like in flight info on where our bags would be upon arrival (the exact bag belt) and information for connecting passengers.

In conclusion, based on this one flight I would fly with Cathay Dragon again if required.
