"You want Gucci and Prada?"
4*

The Ladies Market is good fun if you're up for haggling for fake designer goods and souvenirs.

It is easy to find from Mong Kok metro station, it is located down Tung Choi street (a few minutes walk away).

The market goods are cheap and varied - you can get mens boxers, ladies underwear, trainers, hand bags, purses, key rings etc. Make sure you haggle as the original price will be far more than the actual worth! The market is also extensive and is about 3 blocks long, so there is plenty to look at and purchase as well as comparing prices to get better deals. The stalls do get a bit repetitive however, there seems to be a pattern of certain types of stalls; not a great deal of differentiation.

Arguably one negative is the pushy market vendors who constantly ask if you want Gucci or Prada etc. which can get annoying, especially if you're just looking around, but it's part of the experience and to be honest it isn't anywhere near as bad as places like Pearl Market in Beijing.

I would recommend it as a fun activity to see/buy fake designer products, haggle, and to get a colourful market experience in Hong Kong.

Gets you around
4*

Does what it's supposed to. A few stations were closed on our visit due to vandalism. Otherwise it's convenient and connects most of the cities main locale. We only give it four stars however, as in a developed city there are many other means of transport such as the star ferry or tram which were much cheaper and also less stuffy. If you need to get between two areas quickly however, that the aforementioned modes of transport don't cover, then the MTR is a suitable and convenient solution.

30 Minute Walk
4*

We decided to walk from the foot of the hill via Old Peak Road. The walk took roughly 30 minutes and was moderately strenuous, especially given the heat of the afternoon. The view from the top is spectacular and is a must-see for any tourist visiting Hong Kong. There was also a surprising amount to do at the top with two mall-like buildings with restaurants and even a Madame Tussauds I believe. Unfortunately there was a lot of renovation going on during our visit so the roof top viewing deck was closed, otherwise we would've probably given the attraction 5 stars, however we had one of the, surprisingly; nicest McDonalds ever, looking out from their balcony to the west at an orange sunset in warmth of the outdoors. We got the tram back down as it was only HK$37 for a single from the top to the bottom, and this was quick, but steep! The tram dropped us off near the Government House. For any visitor this is a must, I would recommend anywhere from 1 hour to half a day, depending on how you plan to get there, and how much you want to do at the top.
