Massive
4*

Chatuchak being regarded as a huge market is no understatement! It's large size makes it very confusing, a tight maze of hundreds (probably thousands) of stalls and shops. There is signposting detailing individual sections (home to certain crafts and items) which are broken down further into avenues ('soi's'), but to be honest it's not very helpful and I think getting 'lost' is the best way to go about enjoying the visit. The prices are good as well, we have visited many markets during our trip to SE Asia but a lot now target tourists making prices increase, higher than what true 'local' markets would charge, but at Chatuchak, from what I observed, it was alright. I purchased a decent quality key ring for 15 baht (less than 50 pence). Location-wise it is very easy to find if getting the BTS to Mo Chit station; just follow the signs to exit number 1. I would certainly go there again if visiting across the weekend.

City Views
4*

We decided to take a boat along the river so that we could see some of Bangkok's sights and it was great!

There are a number of ferry stops along the river so you can get on/off easily. We decided to get the orange flag boat which cost 15 baht per person one way. It's much cheaper than the tourist boat and it is almost equivalent in route and boat quality, minus the information, so I would recommend it. It's a nice way to view the City with a bit of a breeze and less walking, which is great in the heat. We went during the daytime, but I imagine at night it's very pretty.

The river itself is, unfortunately, quite dirty so isn't that appealing. It is fairly wide and there is some quality architecture along its course. We saw a great number of fish in one location, all near the surface like someone was feeding them though that wasn't happening at the time so it was a strange phenomenon (picture below).

Overall, it is a nice way to see Bangkok and explore the City, I'd recommend it!

A brief visit
4*

I only included this review to act as an update on what is occurring here as I see the reviews are very limited and somewhat dated. Chuvit Gardens now appears to be a modern/edgy outdoor market/eating-spot with some stalls and a few outdoor bars at the back. It is quite small but still has lots of products available and when we visited it was lit up beautifully and had music creating a pleasant vibe. Per the title, we didn't stay for long or have anything to eat as we only walked in after the lights caught our eyes, however from first glance I think that this spot would make a nice stop for anyone looking for a bite to eat or indeed a drink, or at the very least a picture like the ones we got!
