Christmas Day
3*

We decided to spend Christmas Day 2019 at Patong Beach as we had been planning since early October! The beach was fairly crowded and the water is a bit dirty (in comparison to other Thai beaches) but overall it was a nice experience. We found some space among the people sunbathing and had a coconut drink (you can purchase them for around 40 baht just off the beach). There was activities available like parasailing and jet skiing. As mentioned, the water was a bit murky with seaweed but still pleasant nonetheless. We then had dinner at one of the restaurants that backs the beach which was a reasonable price and was okay taste-wise.

Boxing Day
5*

We went to the cinema at Jungceylon on Boxing Day after Santa delivered tickets for Jumangi 2. The actual complex provides a range of shops in a spacious environment, as well as food outlets and ice cream stalls etc. We went to a huge Big C supermarket before the cinema to get snacks. As for the cinema; collecting tickets was simple and the cinema was large and the seats were comfortable. The temperature, lighting, and sound were all adequate and most movies cater for tourists so there is no issue in finding an English audio movie. *Note: they pay respects to his Majesty the King of Thailand at the beginning of all movies which we weren't expecting. If the weather is bad or you want to escape the heat, or if there's just a good movie you want to watch, then this is probably the best place in Patong, if not all of Phuket, to go. Also, the pricing varies with the day of the week, I think Monday and Tuesday were cheapest, while on Thursday and Friday there was at least a 20 baht surcharge, I am not sure about the other days; our tickets were 240 baht each.

Busy and adult friendly
3*

Bangla road is a good place to go if you're looking for bars and barely dressed women but that's about all!

They do have some restaurants and a small market which sells T shirts and souvenirs etc. but the main theme is definitely party based!

Overall, it's a good place to have a stroll and it's close to the beach, but you may want to skip it in the evening if you have young kids.
