Impressive Art
3*

We visited the art gallery in Melbourne as it was listed as a top attraction in the City, and we both enjoyed it.

The outside of the building has an impressive water feature, and the gallery is full of different types of art from different eras which is interesting to look at. The gallery is centrally located in the City and has bus/tram stops right outside.

The gallery is huge, so if you're into art make sure you give yourself a few hours to look at everything!

It wasn't the best art gallery I have visited, and some of the exhibitions required purchasing tickets which was annoying, but overall if you like art or you would like an indoor activity during your trip to Melbourne I would recommend visiting!

'Pokies'
4*

The Crown Casino is very inviting with its fancy exterior and vibrantly lit interior. It was adequate for my visit as I just wanted to play cheaply on the slot machines, and as they allow 1 cent spins, it was perfect. Unfortunately, there are no free drinks like at the Casinos in Vegas, but I suppose that's understandable seeing as the resort here isn't probably catering for the types of clients that spend thousands of pounds/dollars a night. Roulette had a buy in as low as $2.50AUD and there was also live roulette machines that had lower buy ins. The casino was clean albeit a few drinks and mess surrounding some machines. The casino attendants were very friendly and helpful if you require any assistance. As previously alluded to, it is bright but it is also not too loud. The location is convenient if travelling from downtown as you can get the excellent tram service here in next to no time. Finally to add, they weren't that strict on dress code when we visited [a Monday evening]; people were in all sorts of casual clothing and types of shoes.

Modern and friendly
4*

We have stayed at a number of Ibis hotels and this was one of our favourites.

The rooms are very modern, clean and reasonably sized. The shower was always hot and had good water pressure too. We also had a large screen TV and an iPad which enabled us to communicate with the hotel staff and co-ordinate cleaning times which was really useful especially with jet lag! The rooms come equipped with a fridge, safe, kettle, and a decent selection of toiletries.

The location is central and it is in the free tram zone which made it cheap and easy to get around the city. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and a supermarket in walking distance of the hotel.

All of the staff were really kind and friendly, and they were happy to help with anything which was lovely. The concierge Andy was really nice and made us feel very welcome.

Just to note, the reception is in an odd place on the second floor; we did not realise at first and hung around the concierge desk until someone notified us that it was on the second floor!

Overall, this is a really great hotel and the price is very reasonable; great value for money, I would definitely recommend staying here.
