Cupcake ATM
4*

We came across Sprinkles whilst visiting Rodeo Drive and Beverly Hills and it has amazing cupcakes.

One of my favourite things about this place is the cupcake ATM outside; where you order your cupcake and it gets delivered through a pink ATM in a lovely box! It was a really cool feature of the store, and the cupcake was delicious.

It was fairly expensive, but I think the location and the novelty of using the cupcake ATM made it worth it.

If you fancy something sweet and fun in Beverly Hills then visit Sprinkles!

The LA transport system, like many public transport systems in the US is absolutely flawed. I do not know where to begin. Miraculously the Metro does allow you to purchase passes for your Tap card online. Unfortunately, the passes sometimes don't work for up to 3 days... so if you want to get the bus down the road then you may need to plan 72 hours in advance if you're not buying on board. Secondly, we opted to purchase 1 day passes at the cost of $7 as we were informed, and later found out, that the arrival times of many buses are so unpredictable that you're better of covering yourself for the day rather than buying a one way pass where you may not make a simple journey within the time frame... Thirdly, the buses and train were not clean, nor did they seem safe at all. Despite having gates to metro stations, there were many homeless people on the platforms and boarding the trains, walking up and down asking for money. Both the trains and buses smelt awful as well. If LA wasn't so big then I probably would've just paid the price for Uber or Lyft, however I feel like you're forced to take public transport on a limited budget.

Not bad

Contrary to many reviews, we used the Megabus twice (San Francisco to LA & Dallas to Houston) and both experiences were decent.

My major critique of the company is that it does pick you up and drop you off in less favourable (dodgy) areas of cities, and their stops are sometimes not clear at all, like in San Francisco.

The positives were that both our journeys were quiet (we did go midday on a weekday both times) and the buses were clean. They also both departed and arrived almost to the minute that was stated. We pre-booked specific seats as we were told to, on the upper deck at the front, and they were comfortable and had okay views. The journeys were both smooth and the bus had no issues. On our longer journey from San Francisco to LA, the bus stopped for 30 minutes at a service station which acted as a nice break.

In conclusion, I think that this company is a bit 'hit and miss'. We got lucky both times we traveled but I can see where the negative reviews may originate from. I would certainly recommend over Greyhound where possible however, we did get a Greyhound and it wasn't to bad, but we preferred Megabus.
