4*

We only stopped here for a short while to have a look around. The architecture is quite stunning if you go to see that and nothing else. There were lots of collections, lots of books and even DVD's etc. to read/rent, and there appeared to be good space for reading. We went to see the Grand Reading Room but unfortunately it was closed; we could still look in but just not enter. The janitor approached us and he was very nice, very funny and gave us a little background on the Grand Reading Room. The library is very well maintained, credit to him also I guess. I would pop in if passing by as it was quite awesome to see.

4 nights in Music City
4*

Located around halfway between Nashville International Airport and Downtown, this hotel was in an ideal location for us. It only took about 5-10 minutes to reach from BNA with a Lyft that cost around $10. Check-in was simple, we had pre-paid but they also required a debit/credit card for a security deposit. There was a small seating area where breakfast took place just by the entrance and they supplied hot water, coffee, tea and hot chocolate all day. The breakfast itself was good; there was a selection of meats and eggs, cereals, and also the beloved waffle-maker.

Our room was situated on the third floor which was accessible via the elevator. The room was quiet and we were never disturbed. It was a good size and clean, it also overlooked the pool which was closed (winter). The heating was great and there was a microwave and fridge also which were useful. The room was always cleaned well on a daily basis and replenished with toiletries etc. The hotel had a self-serve laundry facility that we didn't use, along with a gym; the gym we utilized for fresh, cold water.

To reach Downtown Nashville we always took the number 55 bus from the stop opposite which was quite frequent and cost just $4 per person for a day pass. The bus stop wasn't the friendliest of places, but equally it wasn't too bad and the bus was common enough that you were never standing there for too long. Southbound on the number 55 bus you can get to some fast food outlets like Taco Bell and Domino's, good places for a quick meal and only a couple of stops away.

Our overall experience was standard for this type of establishment, the price was good, therefore I would recommend staying here to anyone visiting the Music City and on a budget.

Winter
3*

Obviously the market was not as lively and exuberant as it may be during the summertime, but it was still operational and worth a look around. The main building with eateries and small shops (the building in the picture attached) was open and the pricing of meals/products seemed moderate. It wasn't that big but it was still nice to relax there, especially as it was warmer than outdoors!

Outside, although no stalls were open, the Gardens of Babylon Garden Center was and it was nice to stroll around this and also to meet the resident cat who was hiding among the large potted plants in the greenhouse. Being close to both the Tennessee State Museum and Downtown it was worth the time to visit after visiting other attractions.
